In addition to the granular controls of most of imgix's image operations, we offer several ways to automatically improve and optimize your images across large libraries.
- Auto Enhance: Generally gives images a more vibrant appearance. It works best with editorial photography, stock photography, and user-generated content.
- Auto Compress: Applies best-effort techniques to reduce the size of the image, including reducing image quality slightly and removing color profile information.
- Auto Format: Determines whether the image can be served in a better format for the user's browser and converts it to that format if so (for example, WebP for Chrome).
- Redeye Removal: Detects any faces in the image and adjusts redeye accordingly.
All of these operations except for Auto Format can be set as Default Parameters, allowing you to apply consistent settings across your entire image library.
